The Fire Service College has built an enviable reputation as the premier fire training establishment of its kind in the world after 38 years of continuous development at the Moreton-in-Marsh site in England.
A wide variety of incident scenarios are simulated on our extensive training ground and our new and outstanding urban search and rescue training ground. Building fires and accidents, road, rail, aircraft and shipping incidents, and chemical plant, oil storage, industrial and offshore emergencies are created routinely. The strictest standards of safety are maintained at all times.
The Fire Service College Library supports the practical training and provides a range of services to those at the Fire Service College, to the fire and rescue services and to the fire industry. It is regarded as the most comprehensive fire-related, specialist library in existence.
With unrivalled expertise in fire safety and fire engineering, we offer professionally validated courses from foundation to degree level. Many of our tutors are seconded from United Kingdom fire & rescue services and are experienced in the practical application of the latest fire safety legislation and technology. They are supported by specialist chemists, engineers, building tutors and fire engineers. The course design and delivery systems of the Community Safety Support Centre and the Operational Enterprise Section are quality certified organizations to ISO 9001, 2000.
Most training is conducted at our Moreton-in-Marsh site but we also offer outreach courses both in the United Kingdom and overseas. Regular outreach delivery of Fire Service College standard courses is undertaken at the Scottish Fire Service Training School, Gullane, Edinburgh and the Ministry of Defence Training School at Manston, Kent. This approach has proved so popular that it has been extended recently to the presentation of regular fire safety workshops and seminars at conference venues all over the United Kingdom.
We have residential facilities for 600 students and our recreational facilities are extensive.
