The 18th United Kingdom Firefighters Sailing Challenge (UKFSC 2023) has launched!

The UKFSC Committee launched next year’s challenge at the Emergency Services Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in September with the help of Ruth Powell, Director of Engagement and Fundraising for The Firefighters Charity (FFC), and within a week of the announcement some 21 of the available yachts were booked up.

The dates for UKFSC 2023 are Monday 8th May 2023 to Thursday 11th May 2023

35 yachts have been reserved through Fairview Sailing and Sunsail and the venues, catering and itinerary are all confirmed.

Racing will again take place in The Solent and with shore-based activities at Port Solent, Cowes and Yarmouth.

Crews from the Fire Service, Police Service, Ambulance Service, RNLI, and sponsors will once again take to the seas in their hundreds to race against each other, have fun and raise money for charity. Skills and experience of the crews vary, and people new to sailing are always welcome. Places are selling out fast though!

Many thanks go to UKFSC’s sponsors who have shown continued commitment to the event, especially EMILY and WH Bence, the two Platinum sponsors. Charitable donations from UKFSC are now totalling over £120,000 since the event’s inception and the committee expects this to continue during 2023.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for companies who would like to get involved in the event, raise their profile, and make charitable donations all at the same time.

More information can be found on the UKFSC website, along with the online entry form.
