Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting tools, has announced the launch of the Streamlight Sidewinder Compact III, an ultra-compact, multi-fuel flashlight designed for professionals who demand reliability, flexibility, and hands-free illumination in the toughest environments.
The Streamlight Sidewinder Compact III features a 185-degree tilting head, multiple LED color options, and versatile gear and helmet mounting capabilities, delivering powerful performance in a lightweight, rugged design. This next-generation flashlight meets a wide range of illumination needs for military, aviation, and industrial professionals.
Customizable LED Options and Multi-Fuel Power
The new Sidewinder Compact III allows users to configure their light with two of three color LEDs (red, green, or blue) in addition to standard white and infrared (IR) outputs. The military model includes white, red, blue, and IR LEDs, while the aviation model includes white, green, red, and IR LEDs. Each LED offers multiple brightness levels and a strobe function.
Powered by either one AA alkaline or one CR123A lithium battery, the flashlight delivers flexible power options and extended run time in extreme conditions up to 275 lumens and 3,200 candela on High, with a beam distance of 113 meters.
Engineered for Versatility and Durability

The light’s compound On-Off mode selector separates the On-Off, dimming, strobe, and LED-selection functions for smooth operation. Its rotary selector knob includes a tactile IR indicator and a pull-to-turn locking design that prevents accidental mode changes, even when used with gloves.
Built from high-impact nylon and equipped with a scratch-resistant polycarbonate lens, the flashlight is IPX7 waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes and impact-tested to 3 meters, ensuring long-lasting durability in demanding environments.
Hands-Free Mounting and Lightweight Design
The Sidewinder Compact III includes a belt/gear clip with integrated helmet mount that fits existing Sidewinder® helmet mount adapters. A cord attachment hole on the clip supports up to 11 kg of load, allowing for hands-free use in field operations. Measuring just 7.9 cm long and weighing 85 g with an AA battery or 77 g with a CR123A, the light combines strength and portability.
