S-GARD CORSAIR – Multinorm protective suit of GORE® PYRAD® Stretch

Firefighters’ protective clothing for indoor attack is too heavy and bulky for many operations. For outdoor firefighting or technical assistance, more lightweight, breathable and easy-to-move protective suits are required. Together with GORE-TEX, S-GARD has developed a new multi-standard protective suit that meets precisely these criteria. The basis is the GORE-TEX CROSSTECH® PYRAD stretch material. It is very light, relatively thin, highly breathable, heat and flame resistant, waterproof and windproof and, thanks to its stretch properties, also very easy to move in. The new protective suit from S-GARD complies with EN 469:2020 Level 1 (fire fighting in external attack), EN ISO 11612 (heat and flame protection) and 14116 (flame protection), EN 343 (breathable, wind- and waterproof workwear) as well as EN ISO 16689 (protective clothing for technical rescue) and ISO 16604 (protection against blood and body fluids).

Safety harness according to EN 361 complements IRS system for fall protection

S-GARD has developed a new type of harness system that allows the DTS/IRS system integrated in many protective jackets to be quickly and easily extended into a fully-fledged fall protection belt according to DIN EN 361. The harness is simply slipped over the protective clothing and connected to the IRS QLOCK directly on the tactical jacket without having to change clothing parts. Since both waist and thigh straps are integrated, no additional straps are needed in the trousers. It takes only 30 seconds to put on and fix the lightweight system. So it can also be put on while in the turntable ladder basket. The patented S-GARD CONNECT system can be used in conjunction with the IRS QLOCK in all S-GARD protective jackets with integrated DTS/IRS system.

SWANGARD – new lifejacket stabilises trapped accident victims

S-GARD has developed an innovative rescue waistcoat that facilitates a gentle rescue of trapped persons via the rear of the vehicle. The lifejacket stabilises the patient’s shoulders, upper body and arms for rescue with the spineboard. The lightweight waistcoat is placed and secured around the shoulders, upper body and arms of the injured person. With two straps attached to the waistcoat, the casualty can be fixed in a stable position – without further assistance from helpers – to parts of the vehicle, for example the steering wheel, until access from behind is possible with the spineboard. With the help of long loop straps also attached to the waistcoat, the injured person can then be gently pulled onto the spineboard and rescued from the vehicle.
