Following the resounding success of its first seminar, PGI Safety and Hunter Apparel Solutions Limited are thrilled to extend an invitation to its second seminar, which promises to be an even more enriching experience. The seminar will be held on Friday 2nd February with clean cab technology demonstrations held on Thursday 1st February.

Building upon the positive feedback and insights gained from our inaugural event, the team have curated an exceptional lineup of guest speakers who are industry leaders. Their expertise will provide valuable perspectives on the latest advancements and future trends in this field.

In response to the overwhelming interest in practical demonstrations, we are excited to announce live demonstrations of the latest new clean cab, clean room air purifying systems. These demonstrations will offer a firsthand look at the cutting-edge technology that is reshaping the landscape of vehicle and room air quality. Demonstrations will take place the day before on Thursday 1st February.

Guest Speakers

Russell Shephard

Russell Shephard AFSM, AFAC Director of Standards and Strategic Procurement Chair of ISO TC94 PPE, former Chair ISO SC14 Firefighters PPE. Member of NFPA Correlating Committee for Fire and Other Emergency Services PPE. Former President of the United Firefighters Union of Australia A master of detail, totally committed to the safety of firefighters

Robbie Burns

After serving 15 years in the Royal navy and leaving the RN at the rank of Petty Officer, Robbie joined Hampshire Fire service and has been with the service for 18 years, serving at multiple Fire Stations across Hampshire.

In 2011, he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 (of 3) Bladder cancer, which has led to over 30 surgeries under General Anaesthetic, along with multiple other challenges to health from the 19 sessions of chemotherapy that complimented surgery. Robbie is passionate about raising awareness of the chronic health issues , faced by Firefighters and is currently co chairing a national group of individuals who also require change to the behaviours of each FRS and the need for a cancer diagnosis as a firefighter to be legally enshrined as an occupational disease. This is his drive currently and aspirations are to halve the incidents of Cancer in the FRS, along with Government recognition of the need to resource the service correctly, with the right PPE and medical surveillance to give an early warning of disease and other attributed illness.

John Lord

John Lord retired as a station manager with Lancashire Fire & Rescue and has over 32 years of operational experience. He is now a Training specialist in Incident Management & Fire Studio simulation software with his company SimTrainer UK. John is a leading expert in Cancer in firefighting and John’s personal story as he and his wife were diagnosed with Cancer after he finished his career.

Chris Colgan

Chris is the ex-Assistant Chief Officer of Kent Fire & Rescue Service having retired after just over 32 years as director of Operations. He served as the national lead for PPE and lead on PPE supplies during the COVID-19 period for the sector and was also the inaugural chair of the NFCC PPE Committee.

Chris will be discussing the latest updates on LC02 decontamination.
