LION launches FireLens™ Augmented Reality System for Workplace Fire Extinguisher Training
COMBINING PHYSICAL TRAINING EXTINGUISHERS WITH SIMULATED FIRE SCENARIOS IN REAL WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENTS
LION, a global provider of emergency response training, protective equipment and safety solutions, has launched FireLens™, an augmented reality system for workplace fire extinguisher training. The system enables employees to practice responding to simulated fires in their actual working environment, without live flames, physical smoke or extinguishing agents. FireLens combines augmented reality software, physical training extinguishers, and instructor controls. Participants can still see their surroundings while interacting with simulated fire scenarios placed around them. This allows instructors to connect extinguisher handling to the hazards and conditions employees may encounter at work.
Workplace-specific training
Organizing regular live-fire extinguisher exercises can involve dedicated outdoor space, equipment and logistical preparation. FireLens provides an additional training option for organizations seeking to conduct repeatable exercises within their workplaces. Instructors can position simulated fires in locations such as kitchens, warehouses and production areas, and configure fire behavior, including simulated smoke development and fire spread. Scenarios can be adapted to training objectives, allowing participants to practice extinguisher use alongside hazard recognition and decision-making. The portable, wireless setup supports training across different workplace locations.
