INTERSCHUTZ 2026 Highlights the Future of Fire and Rescue
The INTERSCHUTZ 2026 exhibition returns to Hanover, Germany, as the world’s leading international trade fair for fire services, rescue operations, disaster relief, and civil protection.
Against the backdrop of global crises and tensions, INTERSCHUTZ will open in Hanover . With 1,750 exhibitors from 55 countries, the world’s leading international trade fair for fire and rescue services as well as civil protection is already set to become the largest INTERSCHUTZ in its history under the motto “Safeguarding Tomorrow.”
The exhibition space across nine halls and various outdoor areas is also surpassing all previous records, covering more than 118,000 square meters.
“The face of INTERSCHUTZ has changed significantly in recent years,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG.
“What began in its early years as a pure firefighting trade fair has long since evolved into a world-leading event focused on protecting people in a wide range of crisis situations.”
Today, exhibitors increasingly present themselves as providers of integrated solutions designed to improve resilience and emergency preparedness across society.
AI, Robotics and Civil Protection Innovation
For the first time, the German Red Cross (DRK) will set up a mobile field hospital covering 3,000 square meters in Hall 23. Visitors will be able to experience how medical infrastructure operates during crisis and disaster response situations.
Artificial intelligence, robotics, connectivity, and digital incident management will also play a major role at INTERSCHUTZ 2026. Industry leaders and researchers will demonstrate how intelligent technologies can support emergency response operations while improving efficiency and situational awareness.
Climate change and wildfire response are also among the central themes of the exhibition, alongside sustainability, resilience, and modern civil protection strategies.
High-ranking fire chiefs, emergency response leaders, and international delegations from more than 40 countries are expected to attend the six-day event.
Action-Packed Demonstrations and Live Rescue Events
INTERSCHUTZ 2026 will feature extensive live demonstrations, competitions, and practical training activities across the exhibition grounds.
One of the major new additions is the WildfireCamp@INTERSCHUTZ, where international experts will showcase advanced wildfire prevention, detection, and suppression strategies.
Another new feature is the High-Angle Rescue Pavilion, dedicated entirely to rope rescue and technical rescue operations.
Visitors will also experience:
- HOLMATRO Rescue Challenge
- FireFit European Championships
- LUKAS CRASH DAYS
- Mayday Rescue Challenge
- S-GARD SAFETYTOUR
- Smart Public Safety Hub
These activities provide realistic demonstrations of firefighting, technical rescue, medical response, and emergency coordination under operational conditions.
Global Platform for Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services
INTERSCHUTZ 2026 continues to strengthen its position as a leading global platform for the fire, rescue, disaster management, and civil protection sectors.
The exhibition combines technological innovation, operational expertise, live demonstrations, and international collaboration to support the future development of emergency response capabilities worldwide.
As emergency services face increasingly complex challenges ranging from climate-related disasters to urban resilience and cyber-connected incident management, INTERSCHUTZ 2026 provides a platform for industry leaders, responders, manufacturers, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and develop future-ready solutions.
