Global Inclusive Disaster Management Conference (GIDMC)

Over the last 10 years, disasters have affected more than 1.5 billion people across the world. The total cost of these disasters is estimated to have exceeded $1.5 trillion. (UNISDR (United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction), Sendai framework for disaster risk reduction 2015–2030, 2015).

A government study of 10 major disasters in the past decade in India has revealed that damages caused by such natural hazards have resulted in losses that account for as high as 66% of all public-sector losses. The need is for comprehensive understanding of these probable incidences and damages caused by them to communities, public sector enterprises and industries.
