Fomtec to Unveil Foam Predictor Tool and Enviro NEO at INTERSCHUTZ 2026

Fomtec, a global leader in firefighting foam technology, will exhibit at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 from 1–6 June at Messe Hannover, Hall 13, Stand B20. The company will showcase two significant developments: the Fomtec Foam Predictor, a new chemical-specific foam selection tool, and Enviro NEO, the latest addition to its synthetic fluorine-free foam (SFFF) range.

As the firefighting industry continues transitioning toward fluorine-free technologies, solutions that improve foam selection accuracy and operational efficiency are becoming increasingly important. Fomtec’s latest developments aim to support fire safety professionals managing complex industrial and high-hazard risks.

A new approach to foam selection

For decades, foam selection has relied on the “fuel group” model, in which a reference fuel is tested and the results applied across an entire group of related chemicals. Findings from Fomtec’s two-year fire testing programme, covering more than 200 chemicals, indicate that this approach is no longer reliable — particularly in a post-fluorine landscape where the safety margins historically afforded by fluorinated chemistry are no longer present.

The Fomtec Foam Predictor addresses this gap by accepting a single input — the CAS number of any chemical on a customer’s site — and returning a matched fire-tested case, a recommended Enviro foam, and an application density. The output is grounded in physiochemistry and validated test data rather than group-based extrapolation.

Visitors to the stand are encouraged to bring CAS numbers from their own operations, whether from tank inventories, polar-solvent loading racks, chemical warehouse risk registers, or specific problem fuels. The Fomtec team will run live demonstrations of the Foam Predictor throughout the event.

Enviro NEO engineered for high-hazard applications

Enviro NEO, Fomtec’s newest SFFF, has been engineered specifically for petrochemical, oil and gas, marine, and other high-hazard environments. The formulation uses 100% hydrated polymers, addressing the viscosity instability and proportioning challenges associated with partially hydrated alternatives.

The practical outcome is uniform performance from initial discharge through to complete extinguishment, with consistent behaviour across fresh, brackish, and seawater. This makes Enviro NEO well-suited to coastal, marine, and offshore installations. The product has been validated through, and beyond, EN 1568, UL 162, ICAO, IMO, and LASTFIRE standards.

The wider Enviro portfolio and PFAS transition support

The full Enviro range will be represented at Stand B20, including Enviro USP, Enviro ARK, MIL and all GreenScreen-certified products that carry third-party verification of environmental performance.

Fomtec’s global sales and technical teams will be available throughout the show to discuss transitions from PFAS-containing foams to SFFFs, system requirements, application standards, and tailored qualification questions. The company continues to support industrial facilities, airports, marine operators, and municipal fire services seeking effective fluorine-free firefighting solutions.

During the Interschutz event, Fomtec’s global sales and technical teams will be on-site to discuss the transition from PFAS-containing foams to SFFF. Visitors can book meetings in advance to get tailored advice on upgrading their fire protection systems to meet new environmental regulations without sacrificing safety.
