Flamepro wins SPPE framework agreement to provide wildland PPE for UK Firefighters

FlamePro, a British manufacturing specialist of life-saving garments for firefighters, has been awarded the National Specialist PPE (NSPPE) Wildland PPE Framework. A move that could be worth multi-million pounds over the four-year agreement.

Fire & Rescue Services across the UK purchase their PPE via the National Framework, meaning that FlamePro will now be the preferred supplier of wildland PPE ensembles for thousands of British firefighters.

The win comes after FlamePro recently unveiled its new Defender wildland firefighting suit – a suit which sets a new benchmark for PPE across the firefighting industry through its unique design and features.

Challenger brand, FlamePro, beat five other competitors to be awarded the framework agreement, including larger and longer-established suppliers. Transparency, innovation, pricing, and exceptional wearer trial feedback all contributed to FlamePro being awarded the framework agreement.

FlamePro will be providing a fully managed service as an optional requirement, meaning it will also handle the care and maintenance of the wildland PPE ensembles.

Reece Buchner, technical sales manager at FlamePro, said: “This is a huge win for the business – it demonstrates that the market is recognising the real value and innovation that FlamePro offers, rather than opting simply for the bigger brands in the industry.

“This framework agreement is a milestone moment for the company. We now have a massive opportunity to grow the FlamePro brand within the UK Fire & Rescue Services, and to be able to demonstrate that we are everything we promise to be.

“Wildland fires are an increasing threat in the UK. And they create a very unique set of circumstances for firefighters tasked with tackling the blaze. It’s for this reason that we, as a brand, have committed so much resource into product innovation. We want to ensure that firefighters don’t have to compromise on any aspect of safety, comfort or ease of movement during these gruelling call-outs.”

Sarah Walsh, Framework Manager for the National Procurement Hub, added: “Congratulations to FlamePro Global Ltd who have been awarded the Framework for National Specialist PPE under Lot 7 for Wildland Fire PPE. We look forward to working with you to ensure fit for purpose PPE is available nationally to Fire and Rescue Authorities that require it to ensure safety of their wearers. On behalf of the sector it is exciting to see new suppliers come through the tender process and have such enthusiasm for providing PPE and the safety of wearers that match our core values and commitment. “
