Fire Fighting Foam concentrate is added to water and expanded by air to produce either low, medium or high expansion foam for fire suppression.  Firefighting foam works by cooling the fuel to below the combustion temperature or by coating the fuel thus separating it from contact with the atmospheric oxygen. There are numerous types of fire fighting foams for many fire fighting applications including Class A Foams, Class B Foams, Synthetic Foams including Aqueous Film Forming Foams (AFFF) and Protein Foams including Fluoroprotein Foam.
